PRE-ORDER — Deliveries from October-November 2026. Limited edition of 600 bottles.
The first whisky from La Guilde du Chardon. A blend of French whiskies from several renowned distilleries, created by Benjamin Kuentz — its direction was chosen by a vote of the Guilde's members on 24 January 2026, before they selected between two blends at a collective tasting on 12 June.
The first names of the thirty-two members who helped create it appear on the label.
Maturation
First matured in an ex-Cognac cask — rarely used for whisky, it brings richness, candied fruit and a roundness that carries the whole without overpowering it.
Then finished in an ex-Chablis cask from Château de Béru, one of the appellation's most respected estates, farmed biodynamically on Kimmeridgian soils. This is the cuvée's signature: flinty minerality, clear-cut salinity and an almost milky, honeyed character.

Aromatic profile
Colour — pale yellow, almost straw-coloured.
Nose — three registers that unfold over time. A mineral, reductive foundation: flint, gunflint, earth, a touch of iodine and a subtle thread of smoke. Then yellow and white fruits: roasted buttery peach, apricot, poached plum, cherry and mirabelle, over a bouquet of white flowers. Finally, an indulgent, creamy register: honey, honeyed muesli and an almost milky butteriness — the hallmark of a fine Chablis. Gentle spices provide support: vanilla, cardamom, a hint of cinnamon and liquorice.
Palate — a saline, rich opening, yet with enough tension to remain balanced. This saline tension, sought by Benjamin Kuentz, makes the whisky wonderfully appetising. Generous, complex and clearly defined, with pear and white peach returning.
Finish — long and persistent, carried by a fine aromatic depth.
Indicators — light bitterness · light acidity · no to light astringency.
Pairings
A versatile profile, from the first glass through to dessert. Suggestions from members: oysters and pata negra (the richness cut by the lively salinity), starters and cheeses, chocolate and chilli cake, Belgian or Swiss chocolate.
