Scotland as a refuge
Landscapes.
An inner journey.
A new beginning.
« It is the home of my soul. The place where I heal. »Hervé Chevalley
In the world imagined by this exhibition, the bothy is a refuge where you can catch your breath before continuing on your way. A place of welcome and sharing knowledge, symbolised by the dry wood left for the next traveller.
After a period of upheaval, Hervé Chevalley sets off from Switzerland with Gary, his 4×4 and his roof tent. His destination is the north of Scotland. He is seeking distance, silence, and a way to rekindle his inner fire.
From this journey, and in particular from the island of Staffa, a new perspective emerges. Photography becomes a way of capturing what a landscape awakens in us: an emotion, a breath, the possibility of a new beginning.
BOTHY tells the story of this journey. An exhibition spanning Scottish landscapes, emotions and renewal, gradually opening up to connection and sharing.

From personal adventure to collective project
Leaving wood for those who follow.
This Scottish journey also gave rise to Le Chardon, then to La Guilde du Chardon. A space where people come together to learn, travel, share and create together.
The exhibition continues this idea: showing what has already taken shape, and leaving room for what comes next. Encounters, joint creations, whisky-related projects and, ultimately, the ambition of a community-owned distillery.
