Some casks wait in a warehouse. These have found refuge beneath the mountain.

On 29 November, La Guilde du Chardon invites you to discover the world of The Cave and to meet Adrien Marin, the independent bottler who explores distinctive maturation locations in Switzerland.

At the Grottes de Vallorbe, his casks are given all the time they need to mature in surroundings far removed from traditional warehouses. Why choose a cave? What decisions lie behind his bottlings? And how do you decide when a whisky is ready to leave its cask? We will take the time to discuss it with the man behind the project.

A tasting, an encounter and the pleasure of spending time together as fellow enthusiasts.

Programme

13 h — Meet the Guild

We will meet at the Grottes de Vallorbe site before the session begins. The exact meeting point will be shared with participants.

13 h 30 to 15 h 30 — Tour of the Grottes & The Cave tasting

We will join Adrien for a tasting to discover his approach and his creations in this unusual maturation setting. The line-up features 5 whiskies, two peated and three unpeated.

After the tasting, everyone will also have time to explore this truly unique place at their own pace.

Adrien will set aside time especially for us to get acquainted, answer our questions and continue the conversation beyond the tasting. An opportunity to discover his journey, his beliefs and the stories behind his casks.

In the evening — Continue the conversation over dinner

To extend the enjoyment, a table will be reserved at the JuraParc restaurant for participants who have selected the restaurant booking option. A chance to get to know one another and share our passion for whisky over a good meal. Adrien has kept his evening free to continue the conversation with us.

Food and drinks at the restaurant are not included in the price.

Tickets and inclusions

Public price: 69 CHF including VAT per person.

Guild members: your ticket for 49 CHF including VAT with your private code. Select « With restaurant » or « Without restaurant », then enter the code at checkout using the email address linked to your membership. The discount is reserved for approved member customer profiles and appears at checkout, not in the initial price shown on this page.

The member benefit is 20 CHF in total per order, valid once per customer profile and not combinable with any other discount. If you buy several tickets in the same order, the 20 CHF is deducted only once.

The « With restaurant » option covers the reservation of a seat at the table only, at no extra charge on the ticket. Food and drinks must be paid for separately at the restaurant.

Admission to the caves, the guided tour with Adrien and the tasting are included.

Travel, personal bottle purchases, dinner and any drinks outside the tasting are not included.

Practical information

Bring warm clothing and shoes with non-slip soles: the caves remain at around 10 °C all year round. Allow about ten minutes to walk from the car park to the entrance. This guidance comes from the practical information from the Grottes de Vallorbe.

Any cancellation made within the two weeks (14 days) before the event is not eligible for a refund. If the cancellation is made more than two weeks before the event, the ticket will be refunded in full and put back on sale.

Video feature: filming is planned to tell the story of this encounter. Participants will be informed about the filming and how the footage will be shared. Please let us know in advance if you do not wish to appear on camera, so that the filming can be organised accordingly.
